


Descartes is set on the river Creuse, in Southern Touraine within the Loire Valley. The town has a very rich historical heritage with the House Museum René Descartes and the Museum Rene Boylesve showcasing it's various aspects. In addition, the churches, like the Notre Dame church of the Hague with its frescos of the 12th century, and its old district of the Paper Mills all add to the charm of this interesting city.
Tours, the principle town of the Loire Valley has a well preserved heritage which rests easily against its vibrant modern and dynamic image of today. With the sights like the Tours Cathedral and the Medieval District, le Vieux Tours, together with its beautiful parks make Tours the ideal destination for a group looking for a cultural tuition programme.

| 3 | Morning French lessons; Afternoon visit of the Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau OR Chateau de Chenonceau OR Chateau de Villandry OR Chateau de Rigny-Usse (the castle of the Sleeping Beauty). |
| 4 | Morning French lessons; Afternoon visit to the mushroom cellar at Bourre. |
| 5 | Morning French Lessons; Afternoon isit to Clos Luce, Amboise, Leonardo da Vinci's Home |
| 6 | Depart host families and return to the UK. |
