As the capital of Normandy, Rouen takes you on a journey of art and history. You will follow the steps of Richard the Lionheart, Joan of Arc or the American troops on D-Day landing. You will be drawn into the atmosphere of a Flaubert’s novel, or a painting by Claude Monet who, like many other impressionist painters, found much inspiration in the architecture and the shimmering light of this beautiful city and countryside.
