Your Choice of Accommodation and Programme

Our school trips are designed with ALL students in secondary education in mind – whether they are studying languages, geography, history etc.  We have created our programmes to suit all needs. You can choose one of the following programmes:

• Basic programme with
• Hostel/Hotel, Residential, Host family accommodation
• Fixed itineraries
• Tuition programmes
• Work Experience
• School visits

Our programmes have been tried and tested and usually have been created by our experienced partners in the chosen country – they know what works and what doesn’t! And with 30 years of organising school trips, we have taken on board comments and feedback from our party leaders – after all you know best what your students want! At Ardmore we believe you should have the freedom to make your own choices.

Of course, space does not allow us to include all the programmes we can offer, so if your preferred school trip is not included in the brochure – or if you have a particular request – please do not hesitate to let us know and we will give you a personalised quotation, according to your needs and budget.

ACCOMMODATION IN PRIVATE BOARDING SCHOOLS AND RESIDENCES
The boarding schools we use have been carefully chosen for the suitability to accommodate our school groups. The facilities vary from school to school but all rooms are basic and clean with en suite or shared bathroom facilities. All are ideally located to explore the local area and visit attractions in the region.

The schools in France are all licensed by the French Ministries of Education and Health as well as the French State Security Commission. Notre Dame les Oiseaux and Campus Sainte-Therese are both located close to Paris. Domaine de Chalés offers stunning residential accommodation in a beautiful Chateau situated in the Loire Valley. The school in Spain is Real Colegio Alfonso XII and is located in the town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, just 30 miles from Madrid.

HOTELS AND HOSTELS
All of the hotels and hostels chosen will have been visited by our staff who carry out Risk Assessments and Safety checks to ensure the best quality and safety standards are provided by our suppliers.

We have chosen hotels and hostels in popular destinations. Accommodation is normally on a bed and breakfast basis but subject to the hotel/hostel chosen, half and full board options may be available.

HOST FAMILY ACCOMMODATION
Ardmore has been offering host family accommodation in Europe for 30 years and we have built up an enviable reputation for the quality of the host families, excellent locations and the support of our team on the ground, to ensure that your students’ homestay experience is a memorable one. Living with a host/host family is the ideal way to understand another culture. Your students and group leaders will be immersed in the language and the way of life – it’s the perfect way to build on the skills you as a teacher have already taught them.

Our homestay centres are ideally located in the suburbs of larger cities and rarely in the centre, allowing easy access to all the major sights and attractions. Within each centre heading (eg Paris, The Rhineland, Loire Valley) we have several centres and you will normally be advised of your host family centre closer to departure.

Students are normally accommodated in pairs or threes although we may be able to accommodate some students singly – this would be subject to a supplement and availability.We will endeavour as far as possible to place your students as requested, however this is subject to availability of host families and you will be fully consulted of any changes which may occur.

Students will all be accommodated in the same area and will receive full board accommodation – continental breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal.

Group leaders are also accommodated with host/host families. However, in some German and Spanish centres, teachers may be accommodated in pensions or small hotels.

Although we try as far as possible to accommodate students and teachers with host families with children, this is not always possible. In Spain, for example, many of our hosts are ladies/couples whose grown up children have left home – we find that these hosts often provide the warmest and friendliest welcome!
