Day 1: Arrival in host family centre – Meet host families

Day 3: Full day excursion to Rouen – AM: Guided visit of the town in English; Place du Vieux Marché, pedestrian street “Gros Horloge”, Palais de Justice, cathedral. PM: Visit 12th century Abbaye de Mortemer, guided visit of Legends and Ghosts Museum, mini-train ride around the grounds
Day 4: Full day excursion to Paris, sightseeing tour by coach, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe (exterior), La Concorde, bateau mouche trip, Eiffel Tower (NB: Leave families at 08:30 and return at 19:30)
Day 5: Caen – visit the town, the American Memorial, Bayeaux – The famous Tapestries, D-Day beaches at Arromanches (time permitting) (NB Leave families at 08:30 and return 19:30)

Brittany is very much a maritime province with most of France’s fishing fleet operating from its shores as well as naval bases and commercial harbours. The attractions of the area are obvious: warm white-sand beaches, towering cliffs, rock formations and offshore islands and inlets, and everywhere the stone dolmen and menhirs of a prehistoric past. All this makes Brittany a fascinating and enriching experience.
