Chatel boasts a huge range of restaurants, cafes and creperies. It also has its own ice rink. The village is very hospitable and welcoming to its guests and during the winter months arranges many activities in the afternoons and evenings – torchlight descents, welcome parties etc. |
| Chatel consists of two main sectors: Barbossine/super Chatel and Linga/Pre-la- Joux, lying between 1100m and 2200m. The Chatel ski area has 47 ski runs with a total length of 83 kms. The inclusive Chatel ski pass is also valid for the Swiss resort of Torgon, the Corbeau section of the Swiss resort of Morgins (Morzine) as well as the Braitaz section of La Chapelle d’Abondance. In all, 130 kms of ski slopes! Facing south in the Super-Chatel/ Barbossine area, lies the snow park and area designated for beginners. |
| The liftpass included in the prices is the Super Chatel or La Chapelle d’Abondance Skipasses which have 64 ski lifts and 83 kms of piste. |
Accommodation
Accommodation is located in chalets near the lively village centre of Chatel, close to all shops
and services, and close to the Super Chatel ski lift.
The chalets are clean and comfortable – usually with bedrooms on 3 floors. All chalets offer a
recreation room with TV and VCR, table tennis rooms and a large dining room. Bedrooms are
usually 4-8 bedded rooms with bunkbeds and wardrobes. Showers, washbasins and toilets are shared facilities (i.e. not ensuite) A heated storage room is also provided for ski shoes and ski clothes/equipment.
